Artist Press
Artist Press is a printmaking studio specializing in stone lithography based in White River, Mpumalanga. Every year the studio has a mass exhibition that caters to anyone interested in the arts. During their exhibition there is a free workshop space aimed at children. I ran these workshops for 3 years and trained Artist Proof Studio students with the logistics involved to plan and execute workshops of this scale. These photos show a particular workshop where each child made a small artist book. A facilitator at each station assisted the child through ink drawings, charcoal drawings, potato prints, intaglio prints and letterpress prints.
The public engagement was truly remarkable, people from all walks of life were all working together to have a beautiful piece to walk away with. We shared stories and taught each other techniques while exploring new styles.
